Nautilus, FL
Interior painting and wallpaper work for the Nautilus neighborhood of Miami Beach, where mid-century homes and quiet residential streets set the pace.
Painting and wallpaper in Nautilus
Nautilus sits just north of the Venetian Islands, a residential pocket of Miami Beach built largely in the 1940s and 50s. The houses here still carry a lot of original material — terrazzo floors, plaster walls, jalousie window frames — and that changes how we work. Floors get fully masked rather than lightly covered, and plaster is patched with compatible compound instead of standard drywall mud, which shrinks and cracks against it.
Because the streets are quiet and largely residential, we keep sanding and spraying inside normal daytime hours and park compactly so driveways and swales stay clear. Most Nautilus projects are whole-interior repaints or a feature wall in wallpaper, and both are usually finished within the week.
Humidity is the other constant. Homes this close to Biscayne Bay hold moisture in walls longer than inland properties, so we allow full dry time between coats rather than pushing a second coat on the same afternoon. It adds a few hours; it saves the finish.
